Ski tours in Aladaglar – range in Central Anatolia
The tour starts with 4 ski touring days in the valleys of the Aladaglar mountains with summits at 3,700m. You will spend your nights in the village of Cukurbag
in a small family guesthouse at the foot of the mountains.
You then move to the culturally rich Unesco World Heritage Site of Cappadocia. Here you will have 2 days to rest and do some sightseeing in Cappadocia,
residing in a traditional cave hotel.
You still have 2 more ski touring days to ski the volcanoes of Mt.Hasan (3,250 m) and Mt. Erciyes (3,936 m).
These mountains can have steep grades of 30 ° – 40 °
Day 1 – Arrival day
Arrival in Adana and 2 hours transfer to Guest House in Cukurbag village.
Day 2
Ski tour Emler (3,723 m)
Short drive (30 min.) to the entrance of the Karayalak Valley. The starting point of the ski tour is around 2,000m depending on the snow conditions.
You go through the Karayalak valley that goes through the Emler and Kizilkaya mountains and then finally the ascent of the Emler.
The ascent takes about 5 hours (1,700 m ascent). The descent takes you through the same valley down to the car (we take off-road vehicles here because the gravel roads are not maintained around the seasons). Overnight stay at Guest House in Cukurbag.
Day 3
Ski tour Körtekli (3.249 m)
About 20 min drive from the guesthouse depending on snow conditions, we drive into the Emli valley. The ascent begins through a juniper forest, then through the valley up in the direction of the Alaca mountain, starting point about 2,000 m. Just before the Alaca mountain there is a steep climb to the Körtekli – mountain. The descent is through the same valley down to the car. The overnight stay in the Guest House.
Day 4
Ski tour Avci Beli (3.165 m)
You go back back into the same valley, but this time to Emli, The climb continues up to the pass (Avci Beli). The descent is then through the same valley. Overnight at the Guest House.
Day 5
Ski Tour Maden Bogazi (3.000 m)
A 45 mins drive in direction of the Emler, along its parallel valley. Starting point is like the other ski tours from about 2,000 m. The ascent will take you up on one of the peaks through the Maden Valley (left or right), possibility to go up to 3,250 m. Descent through the same valley, return journey to Cukurbag to the guest house.
Day 6
Drive to Goreme, culture Cappadocia
1, 5 hours drive to Ihlara or Güzelyurt. After lunch in the village, we visit the gigantic underground city of Derinkuyu. then we take a short walk in the Ihlara Valley, where numerous cave churches from the early Middle Ages are located. Then you continue the drive (1h30) to Göreme in the heart of Cappadocia. Here you will stay in an enchanting cave hotel.
Day 7
Cultural Cappadocia
Early in the morning there is the possibility for a balloon flight which is a “must” for Cappadocia. Next you visit the Göreme Open Air Museum (Unesco World Heritage) with numerous cave churches as you walk through the Monk valley. Have Lunch, continue to Uchisar Castle and finally Pasabag with its numerous mistycal fairy chimneys, the landmark of Cappadocia. Overnight in Goreme in the cave hotel.
Day 8
Skitour Mt. Hasan (3,250 m)
A slightly longer drive (1, 5 hrs.) to Helvadere and the mountain of the Hasan volcano. The ascent goes in a semicircle to the summit. Descent on the same way down to the car. Drive back to Goreme, overnight.
Day 9
Skitour Mt. Erciyes (3,936 m)
One hour drive to the ski center in Kayseri. To simplify the climb, it is possible to use the ski resort lifts up to 2,500 m (from here it’s about 4, 5 hours to the summit ). Otherwise, the climb takes about 5-6 hours. The mountain is climbed from the north, the descent is also from the north, the last part of the descent is via the ski slope, drive back to Goreme to the hotel.
Day 10 – Departure day
Transfer to the airport, from Goreme we drive 1 hour to the airport, home flight.

Safety tips / Health
This is a Ski touring package, you need to be able to ski powder and unprepared snow comfortably.
A good physical health is needed, you will be active at high altitudesand you may be hiking up to altitudes as high as 3900 meters.
No need to worry about Altitude sickness, you have plenty of time to adapt and we will make sure to not move up to fast on your first riding day.
Please mention any health conditions, any allergies or serious medicationyou may be taking when you book with us.
Avalanche Risks and safety
Avalanche danger in mountains is always present.
WSA has years of experience at recognizing areas and snow conditions that are a high avalanche hazard, to avoid them.
We will make sure on the first day that everyone has the adequate gear and knows how to use it. We will provide you with a tutorial on this topic.
Thought you must accept all the risks that come with skiing remote and uncontrolled areas.
The correct mountain attitude is of essence.
Ski/Snowboard touring Gear
We advise you to use suitable gear :
- Skis : wide powder skis minimum 100mm width, mounted with touring bindings, adjustable poles, skins and snow knives.
- Snowboard : split board with compatible bindings, telescopic poles, skins and snow knives or a normal board with snow shoes.
