In the heart of the Balkans, the Pirin mountain range stands proud on Bulgarian soil, in a region neighbouring the Macedonian and greek borders. This mountainous area offers numerous summits in between 2500m and 2900m and lots of lakes. The mountains give us the opportunity to rediscover ourselves, to constantly learn and adapt to the environment, looking for new solutions in the ever changing conditions. We offer you a wide range of possibilities and ideas that will make each experience out there unforgettable and will enrich your knowledge of this exciting world, bringing you the highest levels of satisfaction. This is a a fantastic Hut to hut adventure, remaining high in the mountains for a few days without returning down to the valley.
Day 1
Arrival in Sofia, we await you on a flight arriving between 12am and 3pm and transfer you to Bansko 160km – 2,5 hours.
Dinner and accommodation in a family guest house
Day 2
Transfer to Bansko ski area – 10km. Climbing Todorka peak 2746m. Ski down to Vihren hut 1970m.
Dinner and night in the hut.
Day 3
Breakfast. Climbing Vihren peak 2914m, the highest peak in the Pirin mountains. Descent back to the hut.

Day 4
Breakfast. Climbing Tipic peak 2645m and ski to Demyanitza hut 1900m.
Dinner and accommodation there
Day 5
Breakfast. Climbing to Tevno ezero hut 2500m. You will leave your unnesessary luggage there and climb one of the peaks around us, depending on the snow conditions.

Day 6
Breakfast. Starting from the hut to hike to Polezhan peak 2851m. ski down to the bottom of Dobrinishte ski area.

Breakfast. A short ski back to the transport.

Accomodation – rating Comfort / Roots
On your first night you will be staying in a comfortable family run guest house in the center of Bankso, on the pedestrian street. Based on double/triple occupancy and rated comfort.
Single 20chf extra/night/person. There is a big dining room at the base level with a kitchen. There is also a ski room next to the dining room.
The remaining five nights will be spent in various montain huts. Based on dormatory style accomodation. Rating roots.
Food is simple and plentiful, traditional bulgarian cuisine.

We pick you up at the airport in between 12am and 3pm
Airport transfers, by private shuttle to your guest house in Bankso, lasts around 2,5h.

Safety tips / Health
This is a ski touring package, you need to be able to ski powder and unprepared snow comfortably. A good physical health is needed.
No need to worry about Altitude sickness, you have plenty of time to adapt and we will make sure to not move up to fast on your first riding day.
Please mention any health conditions, any allergies or serious medicationyou may be taking when you book with us.
Avalanche Risks and safety
Avalanche danger in mountains is always present.
WSA has years of experience at recognizing areas and snow conditions that are a high avalanche hazard, to avoid them.
We will make sure on the first day that everyone has the adequate gear and knows how to use it. We will provide you with a tutorial on this topic. Thought you must accept all the risks that come with skiing remote and uncontrolled areas.
The correct mountain attitude is of essence.
Ski/Snowboard touring Gear
We advise you to use suitable gear :
- Skis : wide powder skis minimum 100mm width, mounted with touring bindings, adjustable poles, skins and ski crampons.
- Snowboard : split board with compatible bindings, telescopic poles, skins and adapted crampons or a normal board with snow shoes.
