MEET HER MAJESTY “GJERAVICA”

Steep lines, big drops, gnarly couloirs, amazing forest runs but also mellow and chilling terrain… you name it, we got it!

Keeping in mind the VICINITY of the Adriatic Sea, the EFFECT THAT IT HAS on this mountain range and the maaaaaassive snow storms that it brings.

Magnificent Gjeravica mountain is an undiscovered freeride paradise. A virgin place that is a natural habitat to bears, wolves, lynx and other wildlife..

Our base is a small family hotel “Grand Gjeravica” located at 1750 m. During winter months it is reachable only by snowcat and it is about an hour long drive to get there. Once you’re there you are for real in the wild. Our small but great crew will make sure that you have everything you need to enjoy full time on the mountain.

OUR PLAYGROUND IS LIKE A VIRGIN, TOUCHED FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME…

Accursed mountains. Alps that have been completly unknown and somehow forgotten possibly because they are perceived as insurmountable and wild. They are called Albanian Alps and are the southermost part of the Dinaric Alps.

Maybe because of the region itself and it’s murky history, these mountains are the wildest place in Europe and the last untouched habitats of wild life. Little over a decade ago it was a mission impossible to reach these mountains to explore them. Just recently a few roads have been built in this area but still it is a virgin place to be. Specially during winter months.

Regarding the terrain itself, we don’t like to brag around but yes, we have it all and it’s huge. High alpine terrains, forest runs, couloirs, big open fields and so on.. One thing is for sure, you will not ski the same line twice..

Accomodation – rating comfort

 SMALL GRAND HOTEL GJERAVICA

Owned and manged by a local family, the Krasniqi hotel is located in the Ereniku valley on the south face of the Gjeravica peak at 1750 m altitude.

During winter months and heavy storms it feels like the biggest and best place you have ever stayed at. With an open fire place on the hotel’s „multi purpose“ ground level will let you enjoy a bit of apres ski mood. No worries for your beer supply, there is plenty of it and it’s cheap. Not to mention that we are „Sabja“ ambassadors – first Kosovo craft beer.

Selfsustainable in electricity with a supply from our water turbine and power generator if needed, means no big power suckers in hotel. Internet will work until snow covers the antenas , in which case we go on a rescue internet mission and dig it out.

There is for sure no need for a menu a la carte after you taste some of the local „ORGANIC BY DEFAULT“ cuisine that is served here.
