Zakopane is a colorful town nestled in a valley between the Tatras and Mount Gubałówka. It’s the highest situated
town in Poland (between 750 and 1000 m above sea level). Zakopane’s location makes it a significant tourist
destination and a center of winter sports. It is certainly the most visited place in the southern part of Poland.
Every year, this small town with a population of 30,000 inhabitants is visited by about 6 million tourists!
The Tatra Mountains are the highest mountains in Poland. The Tatra range is a part of the Carpathian chain that
runs also through Slovakia, Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Ukraine and Romania. Most of the Tatra
Mountains are on the Slovak side. Only 22.3% of the surface of the Tatras is within Polish borders.
Despite the Tatra Mountains not being a big area comparing to the Alps, you can enjoy countless ski touring trails.
This winter trip is accompanied by amazing landscapes and some extreme experiences.
